Owning land in India means living with paperwork, and getting hold of that paperwork has always meant taking a day off. We fetch the record from the government system that issues it, check it is complete and readable, and hand it to you as a file you can keep.

The records are the government's and are available from its own portals. What we sell is the work of fetching one, checking it is complete and legible, and handing it to you as a file you can keep. Nothing more is implied by the fee.

Make a land record something you can get in minutes, from anywhere.
Every state in India keeps its land registers differently, and each one is its own expedition to navigate. That is a solvable problem — and solving it properly for one register beats solving it roughly for all of them. Tamil Nadu is where we started.
Problems we solve
Three things that make a simple request hard
Public records that are not actually reachable.
Land ownership records are public. Getting one still means an office, a queue, and hours that suit the office rather than you — or a portal that times out at the last step. The record was never the hard part.
Sites that dress up as the government.
Search for a land record and you will find pages built to look like a .gov.in portal. We say plainly, on every page, that we are not the government and not affiliated with it. Nobody should have to guess who they just paid.
Paying before you know there is anything to buy.
The usual order is: pay, wait, then find out the number was wrong or the record was never there. We look first. If nothing complete comes back, there is nothing to charge for.
Future vision
More records. The same simple way.
A land purchase is never one document. The direction is more of the record types a buyer actually needs, and then registers beyond Tamil Nadu — each added only once we can fetch it reliably and say honestly what it is.
What will not change is the part underneath: we look before you pay, we tell you when something did not work, and we never let a page imply we are the government. A wider catalogue is worth nothing if it costs those.

Each of these is something the product does, not something we aspire to. If we ever break one, you will be able to tell.

Check first, charge second.
You pay only after we have your record. There's nothing to refund, because nothing is charged.

Say what happened.
When a record cannot be supplied — the portal was down, the number matched nothing, the scan came back unreadable — you get the reason in plain words, not a failed payment and silence.

Never pass for the government.
We fetch a public record on your behalf and check it. We do not issue it, we cannot change it, and we say so on every page rather than leaving it ambiguous.

Plain language, always.
Land paperwork is hard enough to read. Anything we write around it — a price, an error, a receipt — is in words you should not need a lawyer to parse.
How we check what we fetch
- We fetch from the issuing portal at the moment you ask, so you are not handed a copy taken months ago.
- We check the document came back whole and legible — not a half-loaded page, not a scan with the survey number unreadable.
- If it did not, you are told what happened. We do not hand over a partial record and call it done.
- What you receive is an information copy — the same content the portal shows online. A certified copy for court or registration comes from the issuing office, not from us.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say so. Write to support@viewpatta.com . We cannot change what a government record says — that has to be corrected at the issuing office — but we can correct anything we have written about it.
